Homage to D. Scarlatti is a straightforward pastiche in the style of Domenico Scarlatti. Still, try as it might, a pastiche cannot truly imitate, because the zeitgeist of the culture and time of its inception inevitably effects it on every level. It only makes it more interesting, I think, to play a piece like this - in it, you can see, prism-like, those levels reflecting one another.
